Top Salsas of 2025

Before the calendar changes to 2026, let’s look back at our five most popular salsas on our website for 2025 including a new salsa taking the top spot.

No. 5 – Salsa Tomatillo Verano

This salsa has a blend of citrus to put you in a beach mood, roasted tomatillos to ignite a barbecue, chile manzanos to compete with the summer heat, and a hint of cinnamon for a reminder of how sweet summer time can be.

No. 3 – Salsa de Carnachas

According to my mom, the origins of my family’s carnachas recipe comes from Veracruz where my Tio Gilberto’s family came from. Our salsa de carnachas has a similar taste to Salsa a la Veracruzana with flavors rich in tomatoes, onions, garlic, but is distinguished by the japones chiles.

No. 2 – Salsa Güerito y Coco

Salsa Güerito y Coco has a bit of everything. A creamy texture, a fierce heat, and a hint of coconut makes this a unique salsa for your taste buds. The salsa pairs perfectly with grilled shrimp and fish.

With a complexion as bright as the sun and a taste that refreshes you like a long vacation this salsa is made with an heirloom tomato, güero chile, and yellow bell pepper.

Update on Sunday Salsa:
Thank you as always to everyone for your support of Sunday Salsa. We continue to have more visitors each year to the website and I’m very grateful that Sunday Salsa remains a place where people can find fun and helpful salsa and food recipes.

Finding time to post new recipes has been difficult as I ventured through my first year as a registered nurse, but I treasure every moment I get in my kitchen, garden, and celebrating my culture.

Also if you are on Instagram, give us a follow at @SundaySalsa, as I’ve been posting a lot of fun videos and photos of my salsas, variety of foods, and gardening. I hope that everyone has a wonderful 2026.

!Buen Provecho!
